Justin C. Ortagus is a Professor in the College of Education and Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin. His research typically examines how state policies, online education, and community colleges impact the opportunities and outcomes of underserved students.
Justin has published research in Educational Evaluation and Policy Analysis, the American Educational Research Journal, Educational Researcher, and the Journal of Higher Education. He has testified before the U.S. House Committee on Education and Labor on the role and influence of need-based financial aid for low-income students. His recent work has been funded by the National Science Foundation, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and the William T.
